Let’s Build and Protect ‘Gami Sariya’ |
| |
I believe it is not an exaggeration when I say that the introduction of ‘ Gami Sariya’ has been as a highlight of the Sri Lanka Ministry of Transport’s endeavor in making its dream of providing its commuters with the most comfortable and efficient transport service in the Asian region, a practical reality,. |
| |
Challenges we should meet through the Gami Sariya programme include the aims of maintaining satisfying transport services on economically unattractive routes, and protecting the industry. In successfully achieving these tasks, the contribution by the Honorable President Mahinda Rajapaksa of Rs 490 Million has proven to be financially kind to the programme. |
| |
I strongly believe that the Village Transport Committees will endure to carry out their responsibilities in ensuring that the target we hope to reach via this programme is achieved. I am continuously open to help you in your Strength and Determination in achieving the above. |
| |
I would like to sincerely acknowledge the contributions of Professor Amal Kumarage, President National Transport Committee and members of the committee, Honorable Minister of Road Passenger Transport, Lasantha Alagiyawanna as well as the Secretary of our Ministry. |
